The battle royale basics
Fortnite is a free-to-play battle royale game released in 2017. Since then, it's made such an impact that the dances from the game are regularly performed by celebrities and athletes. The setup is a standard Battle Royale: a hundred players ride the Battle Bus, jump onto the map, look for weapons and supplies, fight other players, and try to be the last player standing. You can play alone, in pairs, or in a 4-player squad.Chaotic combat and building mechanics
Unlike battles in PUBG, which are more grounded and tactical, battles in Fortnite are chaotic, fun, and they can end in the blink of an eye. While the game now offers a hugely popular Zero Build mode, building remains a unique feature of classic Fortnite. You harvest the environment with your pickaxe, pick up materials, and build structures to protect yourself or to get to places you can't reach otherwise.An evolving world with expanding modes
The whole system looks daunting at first, but you'll soon notice that Fortnite keeps things extremely simple. You'll probably take a game or two to familiarize yourself with the game. The game doesn't offer multiple core maps at once, but the existing island is often changed and updated. It's difficult to portray everything about the huge Fortnite world: skins, characters, special items, and special areas on the map. Over the years, the game has expanded with modes like Creative (a sandbox game mode, similar to Minecraft) and Lego Fortnite, alongside its original PvE campaign, Save the World.
